In life, we may come across some golden chances throughout numerous stages of our life.
Some people may grasp the chance well as it comes, some other may miss it.
Some people may be lucky enough to have a second chance and grasp it, some other may again miss it.
A few people may be even luckier to have third, fourth or fifth chance and grasp it eventually, but some may totally miss all the chances in their lifetime.
To grasp the chance the first time it comes, we may need to be intelligent and prudent enough, and I believe people with this ability are the successful people in their field respectively.
The second chance, to me, may be the most important. After missing the first chance and making some mistake, we should have learned and we should not let the second chance slip away easily. People who are successful from second attempt are equipped with lessons learned and the success may be more sustainable.
If we miss the second chance, we are not sure how many will have the luck to be presented with more similar chances.
Therefore the phrase “Carpe Diem” from a Latin poet hit me instantly when I saw it and after reading its explanation. It basically means seize the day, as tomorrow may be uncertain hence focus on today instead of tomorrow.
