Just Do It

Besides the slogan of LG: “Life’s Good”, Nike’s slogan: “Just Do It” is another phrase that I find extremely meaningful and motivating.

In life, most of us, most of the time, may not have enough confidence and courage (and may be reasons) to do things that our heart is so eagerly wanting us to do. However, the fire may be burning within, but the first step out may have never taken place at all.

Some of the typical examples are listed below:

1) Feel like talking to the pretty girl (or handsome boy) next door and date her (him) out, but never do it.
2) Feel like saying sorry over some embarrassment you made, but never do it.
3) Feel like switching to a new job that looks promising, but never do it.
4) Feel like starting a new business, but never do it.
5) Feel like taking up a part-time course, but never do it.
6) Feel like taking a real long break from work and travel around, but never do it.
7) Others

When we are hesitant, think of the phrase “just do it” as it may just inject enough energy necessary and inspire us to just go ahead and do whatever we feel like doing.

Of course when we are hesitant, chances are we may not find enough good reasons to convince ourselves to do it. Therefore sometimes it helps if we do not ask ourselves why, instead ask ourselves why not? If there is no good reason to not doing the thing that we feel like doing, then we probably will just do it!

Also there is a famous saying:

“Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.”

We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give. (Winston Churchill)
