尘世 (The Reception)

尘世间的花红柳绿已达饱和点，黑与白早已过时不受重视。

唯独在夜幕低垂或破晓之前，摄影师的魂静悄悄的被黑白的天地所摄去。世间的一切精华都化成黑与白，溶化在没有色彩的天地与接待客人的小木屋里。

尘世间情为何物？又何须色彩来衬托呢？

This black and white image is one of my favourite shots. It was shot in one of the resorts in Tioman Island using wide angle lense with exposure time of 10 seconds, f/22 and ISO 100.

The wooden jetty leads to the hut which is the reception of the resort. It looks so surreal and zen like in the morning that I could not stop taking picture of it. It is fortunate that I am not using film camera else it would have costed me a substantial amount.

With digital camera technology, everyone can be a photographer, why not start picking up a dslr and start shooting away to nurture the other side of your brain?

人间天堂 (Beautiful Dusk Hour)

虽然工作非常忙碌，下班后的生活也平凡，但不复年轻的心像静止的水无欲无求，却也觉得踏实且完美。

无求与随缘的心，让我感觉到俗世间的美丽。当然不幸的事也时常发生，但纵观整个局势，世界仍旧算得上是极其美丽的，天堂其实就在人间，只要你用心去体会一切。

从微小的昆虫世界，到亲人小孩们的欢乐，到日出与日落的灿烂，甚至是穷乡僻壤，也成为了我这好摄者的天堂。

在此分享两张日落的作品，希望各位也能看得见人间的美丽。

I like to shoot landscape during and after sunset. At this hour, the color of the sky is in transition from bright to orange glow to bluish to dark, and we can get images of different mood and feel.

For these types of shots, I always try to use a tripod if there is one. With the tripod, I can set the ISO to the lowest which is ISO 100 in this case. Small aperture is selected to have slow shutter speed. With slow shutter speed, the surface of the water would turn into a mirror like finish that I always like to look at.

随性 (CNY)

年幼的儿子从小就爱看舞狮，买了个小舞狮头给他，他就随着舞狮录像的节奏似模似样的舞起来。和所有小朋友们一样，爱玩，爱闹，爱模仿的天性不需大人们的启发，它就在体内流着的血液里，也在每个人与生俱来的基因里。

回到乡下过年，除了和家人们的团圆饭，和朋友们聚一聚，一些民间习俗如放鞭炮，舞龙舞狮，烧香接财神等虽然都是春节惯例，却让春节的气氛更加浓郁，也让那几乎忘了玩乐的心灵又活跃起来。

没有了民间传统艺术，没有了信念，生活会是如何呢？只有工作生产赚钱的生活，和行尸走肉没甚分别，也必定不是完整的。因此朋友，兴起爱玩的时候就请尽情玩乐吧。平衡永远比失衡好得多。

随缘随心随意，是我向往的生活。如何在为生活奔波的同时，能做到随缘随心随意，是我在龙年的小展望。。。

During my stay in my hometown for CNY (Chinese New Year) celebration, I had an infection on my lip, but that did not stop me much from having good times with my family and enjoying the usual lovely atmosphere of the Spring Festival.

The traditional Chinese cultural art and practices such as the lion dance, the firecracker and the prayers for the God of Fortune made the children as well as the grown-ups cheery and delighted.

I did not miss the opportunity to capture some images of the lion dance, the firecracker and the incense sticks used for the prayers.

Every Lunar New Year celebration may be more or less the same, but I never fail to enjoy the joy through these simple activities and atmosphere they created, as well as through the opportunity to reunite with family members and meeting some old friends.

小事一桩 (Small Things)

有机农场让游客们免费捞鱼，每人限捞三条。小孩们开心极了，都捞得不舍得离开。池塘里的鱼儿虽多，但鱼儿们动作迅速敏捷，想捞到它们倒也不容易。

后来老爸和姑姑出马，才成功捞到鱼儿，让女儿和儿子各带三条鱼回家养。

女儿和儿子虽然自己捞不到鱼，老爸却看得出他们捞鱼之乐。

儿子在公园玩乐时看到一些可爱的心型小叶子长在树干上，好奇的稚子心按耐不住拔了一串来玩，欣喜之情现于脸上。

虽然都是小事一桩，老爸却看得出孩子们纯洁简单的快乐。

The organic farm operator allowed the kids to scoop for the fishes in the pond. The kids tried hard but it proved to be quite a challenge for them to get hold of the fast moving fishes.

Finally daddy and aunty turned hero and helped the kids to scoop out three fishes each. The fishes were later brought back home to rear. The children had great fun and joy in the farm.

My little boy discovered some lovely heart-shaped leaves growing on a tree trunk; he plucked down a string of the leaves happily. It was clearly visible on his facial expression that he was delighted.

These are small things indeed, but such is the pure simple pleasure of children’s life.

小小盆栽 (Cute Pot Plants)

前几个星期去了居銮诚兴有机农场一趟。农场以种植龙珠果和有机蔬菜出名，但我却被农场里的小小盆栽所吸引。

拍摄这些小盆栽，50mm镜头最适合了。浅浅的景深不但能取得舒服的虚幻背景（或前景），也因此而突出了可爱青翠的小小盆栽。

除了充满生气的绿芽，制造花盆师傅的巧手创意与心思也让这些盆栽更有生气。

I visited an organic farm park in Kluang recently. Instead of the vegetables and dragon fruits that the farm is famous for, I was attracted by the cute pots of plant that really cheer up my mood for that day.

To shoot these little plants, the 50mm lens is an ideal lens for sharp subjects and blurry background (or foreground) with the shallow depth of field that it is capable of.

Besides the green and refreshing feel of the little plants, some creative touch of the pots maker really adds to the interestingness of the pot plants.

黎明摄影 (Dawn Photography)

任何活动都需要不断尝试学习，摄影也不例外。最近尝试了黎明时分摄影的效果，和各位分享。
以上四张相片都是在天刚破晓时拍摄的。前两张是于七时之前拍摄，后两张则是在七时之后所拍摄。不同之处在于海和天的颜色从灰黑转成为蓝色。

因为黎明时分光线不足，因此可以用慢快门增加曝光，也取得水面柔滑的效果。

亲身体验各种摄影的窍门和效果，是人生一大乐趣之一。。。

Not so long ago, we had a family trip to Resort World Sentosa. I managed to experiment on some photography from the Sentosa Boardwalk in the dawn hours before my family members even got up of bed.

The first two photos were shot before 7am,whereas the last two images were captured after 7am. The easily noticeable difference is the color of the sea and sky that turns from grayish to bluish.

Due to the limited brightness, I used a tripod with lowest ISO, small aperture to obtain long exposure, creating the water surface that looks silky and smooth as compared with shots taken with normal exposure.

The process of learning never ends and this is one of the most interesting things in life.....

Lion and Kids

This Lunar New Year, as usual I drove back to my home town with my spouse and my kids. The journey was a long ones from the southern tip of Penisular Malaysia to almost the extreme north of the country. Furtunately this year the traffic was smooth throughout probably because I went back on Tuesday morning when most of the people must have gone back during the preceding weekend.

I love the feeling of being in the home town with my mother and siblings eventhough the house is normally quite messy during chinese new year due to the large number of relatives and kids who were all around interacting with each other.

My kids also love going back to my home town so much that my daughter shed tears when we were on the way back, not feeling like leaving her "gang" there.

Lion dance is always the kids' favorite and this year was no exception.

I took some photos during my stay there and posted some onto my Flickr account. Surprisingly, one of the photos (posted here above) appeared on the Flickr Explore page on 10-Feb-2011 at position no. 18. However today it slides down to position no. 93, and I realise that the position will change over time subject to some criterion unknown to the public that are set by Flickr.

This is my first photo that appears on Flickr's most interesting photos page and I hope this will motivate me to explore further in the area of photography and throughout the process of continuous learning.

简单的心 (Simple Satisfaction)

昨天放工回家，摄影瘾忽然发作，刚巧小儿子收到了姨丈的礼物，一盒彩色笔与一本填色簿，开心地叫我帮他与彩色笔拍照，我正中下怀，却之不恭。

儿子的心情非常愉悦，开心的成为爸爸的模特儿。父子俩有如专业摄影师与模特儿般，相互呼应，配合得天衣无缝，连电视机的灯光都派上用场，照亮了儿子的脸频，使拍出的相片不至于太单调。

儿子单纯简单的心，一盒彩色笔与填色簿就足以让他成为骄傲的主人。爸爸也得以解瘾，促进父子关系之余，也度过了一个轻松的夜晚。

Yesterday when I reached home from work, I had a sudden urge within to play with my camera. It was so coincidental that my 4-year-old son had just received a new color pencil set and a coloring book from his uncle, hence he was in jovial mood and wanted me to photograph him with his new gifts.

I took out my camera fitted with the Canon 50mm f/1.8 lens that I acquired recently and started the shooting session. My son became my model who happily posed for me and I recorded down his joyful moment in the form of digital images. Both the father and son are happy with the session and it strengthens the tie further. I call this simple satisfaction of simple people.

Being in-door, it was difficult to get an ideal white balance hence I resorted to using the auto white balance, also tried out aperture setting of f1.8 to f2.8. However, I realized that portraiture shots taken out-door in general seem more attractive probably due to better lighting condition. I guess I need to read up more on proper lighting for improved portraiture photography.

注：生命就如一张新买的空白记忆卡，我们的生活点滴都记录在里头，我们所能留下的，就是这些记忆。。。

Life is like a piece of empty memory card, our life experiences will be recorded inside, what we’ll leave behind, will be the memory inside….

儿时玩伴 （Childhood Companion ）

除了父母亲的爱护与关怀，儿时玩伴是我们童年欢笑的主要因素。

当时家里没有电子游戏，没有电脑，我们就在住家外的空地或临近的校园玩乐，玩‘过河’，‘兵追贼’，玻璃弹珠，斗鱼等。虽然没有昂贵的电子游戏产品或新颖的玩具，却也过了一段快乐的童年。

小时候也喜欢追看著名的香港连环图- 小流氓与李小龙等。那时候和阿辉表哥有个梦想，就是长大后能当个连环图的作者，因而一空闲时就学画图里的角色如王小虎，石黑龙，石铁等。

当了父亲，看着孩子们和玩伴们开心的玩乐，原来昂贵的玩具，并比不上和知心玩伴的陪伴来的开心。。。

Most people have a memorable childhood. Other than the love that our parents showered on us, and the playground, what made it memorable was the childhood companion who played, laughed, learned and grew up with us.

When I was young, most of the families are big. Half a dozen of siblings were pretty common. Those days, there were no computer games, no video, black-and-white TV was a luxury, but together we had fun playing numerous inexpensive or free games and toys that have been long replaced nowadays by modern game consoles, DVD and exotic toys from shops like Toysrus.

I was a fan of popular Hong Kong comics during my childhood days, and the one that I spent the most time with reading the comics was one of my cousins. We both dreamed of becoming a comic author when we grew up one day. Therefore we spent a lot of times learning and practicing how to draw the popular figures in the comic book.

As a parent now, looking at my kids who enjoys times with their cousins, I realize that what makes our childhood memorable need not be sophisticated toys, but the companion plays an important role…..

生活中的许多小小点滴，小小惊喜，小小付出，小小成绩，小小爱心，小小栽培，小小心意。。。等等，这些小小的一切，让我们的心不分大小的快乐起来。。。。

五个月

写部落格整整五个月，在此总结一下：

话说经济风暴降陆本区域肆孽一轮后，工作量减少，简单人生变得更简单而不忙碌，和家人朋友闲聊的时间也多了。

某一天，在星洲探望幼妹（幼妹是年纪最小的妹妹，不是我叫幼幼）漫谈时，听他提起母校校友的部落格 – ‘我们。重逢’，浏览之后大为欣赏。隔天无所事事，就在清风凉雨之下，开始尝试写部落格生涯。

活在当下 Live In The Present，选你所爱，爱你所选向来是我推崇的人生观，于是就戆居居的用了LG – Life’s Good 为部落格定名。

部落格就像是我的故事箱，所有普普杂碎的大小事情都可以写在里面。因为网络是虚拟形式的，所以想写就写，想说就说，不只可以像安哥爵之爵爵不休，还可以彬彬无理的大谈扩论。倒是非常痛快。

亚鸿说，部落格不只可以谈Principle of Uncertainty和Foodie and Travel Bug，还可以学偉強論政，华山论剑一番。就算对政治一知半解，只要多浏览曾聒，阿武叔 UNCLE BOO，林放 Lim Fang，steppenwolf-康华，爵士风云和朱墨华部落等等部落格，就能道听涂说，瞒天过海，走出一条康庄大路。

除了时事与政论，在部落格里也可欣赏到各路山城大熊与英雄好汉的文学艺术作品，例如Venus的诗楼阁，拿督C K HON 韩春锦的高水准摄影作品，云城的政治诗等等。

喜欢旅行的朋友当然不能错过龍貓愛旅行，喜欢幽默有趣的漫画则可以追看范の涂鴉空間。还有专业资讯如眼睛会说话。总之不管霓的名字何的姓氏，也不管你是何方神圣，部落村里总能找到你的生活空间。只要你带眼识人，近朱者赤，绝对不会有任何问题，别担心地狱门欢迎你。

饮茶

和其他民族比起来，华人似乎比较喜欢饮茶。大致上，饮茶也许是香港传来的饮食文化。香港点心闻名遐迩，香港人吃点心饮茶的风气也不知曾几何时开始南下星马，总之饮茶一词使人联想到优哉闲哉的优雅生活。

饮茶也未必一定是喝中国茶。和友人到咖啡店‘饮茶’也可能是喝咖啡乌或香浓的白咖啡。有品味的朋友则可选择Cappuccino, Espresso 或Latte 等。喝咖啡也许是西方文化，却与香港的饮茶有着异曲同工之妙，也让人联想到优哉闲哉的优雅生活。

在大马，我们还多了一种选择，就是印度拉茶。喝香浓的拉茶，也是一种享受，但却风行在晚间宵夜时刻。尢其是足球迷们，更爱在嘛嘛店一边看英超足球赛一边喝拉茶为球队打气。

通常吃肉骨茶和点心时，我会配以中国茶。吃那西罗马或面时，就配上咖啡或咖啡乌。吃印度煎饼时则喝拉茶。吃日本餐或韩国菜时就喝绿茶。烧烤会时就喝红酒与啤酒。运动过后就喝100 Plus，吃比刹时就和孩子们一起喝Pepsi Cola.

一个马来西亚，多元化的饮料，让我们得享多种口福。Life is Good……….

快乐秘笈

快乐其实可以很自然，每个人都可以在日常生活中得到它。它的秘密在于你必须用心去体会它发现它，它其实就在你左右，远在天边，近在眼前。且听我细述一二。

睡眠是一种快乐，而且是免费的。睡眠让身心得到应得的休歇。许多人把睡眠当着一种享受，其实也是理所当然的事。一觉到天明为乐，睡梦中的美梦如幻似真亦为一乐。

冲凉也是一种快乐，也是所费无几的。水电费加上沐浴露就能让我们每天享受独个儿私人时间。不管是冲凉也好，洗澡也好，沐浴也好，我们就俗称它为冲凉吧。天气热时冲个冷水浴能把热气撤底消除，天气凉时则冲个热水澡让身体缓起来。两者都能让身心获得满足快乐。

吃早餐是一种快乐，也不需花费太多。不管是牛油面包加上一杯香浓的咖啡，或是印度拉茶配印度煎饼，又或是肉骨茶配一壶香片，或简单的美国早餐，都让我们期待。优哉闲哉的早餐时间，让我们为一天的生活作好准备，快乐度过每一天。

午餐与晚餐也是一种快乐，它们比早餐丰富，让我们大饱口福。许多博友已经发现，关于食物或和吃有关的帖，留言特别多。能吃是福，大吃四方等说法，足以证明吃对人类的重要性，吃也是人类最原始的快乐之道之一。

工作是一种快乐，它不止不需分文，反能为我们赚钱。工作的快乐不在于赚钱（单单为了赚钱而工作也许没那么快乐）。工作的快乐在于我们有活动身体运用头脑的机会。工作除了能和许多同事，客户等交流服务人们，运用我们的四肢热身，头脑运转，学以致用。又如游戏人间，何乐而不为？

下班后和好友快乐时光，或和伴侣烛光晚餐月下谈心，或和家人共享天伦之乐，或自己进修深造，或打打球，或看看报，或上上网，都是些快乐无比的活动。

大部分人都有幸能享受到这些快乐。如果我们都能尽力帮助那些没能享受这些基本快乐的不幸的人，哪怕只是微不足道的帮助，这个世界就有更快乐的明天。

Life is good, because it’s all in your mind.

人生十悔

网际网络之辽阔无边无际，部落格的崛起则让我们得以把自己或他人的思想逐一记录下来。除了分享，也能互相交流交换意见，并能加强本身亦认同的一些价值观。若善加利用，倒能获益不少。

以下这则网上留传的佛教故事，发人深省，也让我爱不释手。

有一个书生遇到一位修行的高僧，就请教他说：“我每做一事，事后总是不胜懊悔，请问您我为什么会有那么多的懊悔呢？”

高僧笑着回答说：“你先听我讲一下人生的十种后悔：

一、逢师不学去后悔；
二、遇贤不交别后悔；
三、事亲不孝丧后悔；
四、对主不忠退后悔；
五、见义不为过后悔；
六、见危不救陷后悔；
七、有财不施失后悔；
八、爱国不贞亡后悔；
九、因果不信报后悔；
十、佛道不修死后悔。

”然后又问他说：“这十种后悔之中，你是属于哪一种后悔呀？”

儒生听后回答说：“看起来这些后悔，都是我的毛病！但是我不懂得怎样治疗，所以请您慈悲开示。”

高僧笑着回答说：“那很简单呀，你只要把十种后悔的‘不’字改为‘要’字就可以了。那就是：逢师要学，遇贤要交，事亲要孝，对主要忠，见义要为，见危要救，有财要施，爱国要贞，因果要信，佛道要修。你只要服用了这一字良药，定能无悔于人生。”

我们若能时时紧记这十种后悔，必能减少后悔的机率，生活定能更加美好。Life Is Good.

君子有三乐

那天看新洲日报时读到有关孟子的‘君子有三乐’这篇文章，非常喜爱。似乎和Life Is Good 的概念有着某种相似关系，在此分享。

【原文】孟子曰：“君子有三乐，而王天下不与存焉。父母俱存，兄弟无故，一乐也；仰不愧于天，俯不怍于人，二乐也；得天下英才而教育之，三乐也。君子有三乐，而王天下不与存焉。”
【译文】孟子说：“君子有三大快乐，以德服天下不在其中。父母健在， 兄弟平安，这是第一大快乐；上不愧对于天，下不愧对于人，这是第二大快乐；得到天下优秀的人才进行教育，这是第三大快乐。 君子有三大快乐，以德服天下不在其中。”

【读解】一乐家庭平安，二乐心地坦然，三乐教书育人。

第一乐：

家庭与自身平安。健康无价宝，可算公认。

第二乐：

心地坦然。对得起天地良心，心境自怡。

第三乐：

教书育人。我觉得除了公式教育，也可包括非公式化教育，开导，身教等等。养儿育女教育下一代也可算第三乐。

时代变迁，生活也许不止于此三乐：

第四乐：

活到老，学到老。除了吸收新知识，如文学哲理科技佛学等，也可包括新学的嗜好，如摄影，书法，高尔夫球，园艺等。

第五乐：

知己良朋。人生无常，若有知己良朋把酒对欢，所谓酒逢知己千杯少，实为人生一大快事。

第六乐：

人间有爱。爱与关怀，包括亲情爱情友情，都是快乐泉源。

第七乐：

自由无拘束。社会安定，没有压迫，人人平等也是一乐。

人生若有此七乐，夫复何求？

各位是否有此七乐以外的乐趣呢？

炎热的星期天

炎热的星期天午后，带了两个小瓜到新山联合广场内的儿童水上游乐场玩。

游乐场进门时每个小孩收五零吉押金，出来时押金也尽数归还，等于是免费的。也许是联合广场赞助的吧。游乐场边有个脚底按摩中心，为无所事事的家长们服务。这当然是要服费的。

小孩们最爱戏水，何况水池中还有酱多的玩意儿。真把他们给乐坏了。看着孩子们天真烂漫的笑容尽情的玩着， 老父老母生活中的烦恼也烟消云散了。

回家后，整顿了孩子睡觉，轮到老爸去泳池松松筋骨。泳池的水就如冷切器般把体内热气彻底消失掉，起来后身体轻轻凉凉的好不痛快。

傍晚，一家人到古早人台湾粥馆吃番薯粥度过一个炎热的礼拜天。Simple life is good.
