浮罗山背 Balik Pulau

浮罗山背之名，让人联想到宁静的，适合隐士居住的地方。浮罗是岛屿的意思，这里是槟城岛上山峦的背部，山峦正好将喧哗的城市隔开，让喜好大自然的朋友们有个好去处。

一行人来到浮罗山背的宝盛榴莲园，尽享各品种的美味榴莲，小孩则乐于嬉水泳池中。夜晚烧烤会之后，在蝉鸣声中入睡。一觉醒来，晨运于山中呼吸新鲜空气拾榴莲，把城市生活中累积起来的胆固醇与压力消解掉，当然也不忘记摄影一番，把浮罗山背上的花草树木拍下记录在云端。

I enjoy coming to this place called Balik Pulau very much. We came here mainly for its quality durians even though Balik Pulau has much more to offer its nature loving visitors than durians. 

Bao Sheng Durian Farm is a place that you should not miss if you come to Balik Pulau. It offers lots of durians with different tastes and provides comfortable accommodation with swimming pool attached.

Besides eating lots of durian and walking around looking for durian in the durian farm, I managed to take some photos of this place for sharing with everyone who may like to know more about this wonderful place.

太平湖 (Taiping Lake)

除了小时候课本里曾经读过， 太平湖在太平以外并非闻名遐迩。途经太平到此一游，却意外地发现她不施脂粉天生丽质的魅力。

风和日丽的清晨，不需要特殊摄影技术，太平湖清秀脱俗的容貌自然而然地展现在摄影机里。

太平湖路边的大树，听说叫做雨树。一棵棵雨树粗壮的树枝，从路的一边延伸至另一边，再延伸到湖水绿波上，虽然年岁已不小，却仍然雄赳赳，且万分神气的流露出那不拘又带点稚气的好看样子。

摄影，它总就是能够让我看见世间不朽的美丽。

I passed by Taiping and visited Taiping Lake recently. The unspoilt scenery here is a dream place for photography enthusiast like me.

A few snap shots with my basic but trusted DSLR and its lenses are enough to bring out the beauty of this scenic place and share with all these images here.

A picture is worth a thousand words. You can have your own judgement whether this place is worth a visit if you pass by this small town…

Note: For those who may be not from this region, Taiping Lake is located in Taiping, a small town in the state of Perak, Malaysia, and is north of Ipoh.

山城怡保 (Ipoh’s Mountainous Scene)

怡保是岳父的故乡。除了美食之外，最爱这里的山峦。

暮色低垂时，薄雾笼罩着远方的山脉，望着窗外的树木与民居，与远方的山脉有层次的重叠着，这宁静的山城景色，对山城人来说也许再普通不过，对于不居住在这里的人却有点不食人间烟火的感觉。

在横街海鲜饭店用晚餐，爆炒烧肉，马来占炒野菜与炒蚌等家乡菜肴都美味得不得了。之后，在路边停车之处发现天泛红霞，昏暗的街灯，远方的山的灰暗影子，与一排不甚起眼的店屋，即带出了小镇独有的浪漫感觉。

把不起眼的事物与景象用心观察，就会发现不起眼其中的特别。。。

Ipoh is the hometown of my father in law. Other than the tasty food it is famous for, I especially like the mountainous landscape here.

Both the images here were shot with the mountain in the background, which adds interest to a minimalist composition. The foggy weather also added some mood in the otherwise boring looking scene.

One of the interestingness of photography is one has to explore for beauty in the daily life scene which may not be readily noticeable if we do not feel and see the surrounding with our heart….  

居銮 (Kluang)

就在这个周末，我们来到居銮。靠着导航系统，顺利到达火车站。

来火车站的目的，并非欲乘搭火车回乡，而是慕名而来，品尝火车站的烤面包与半生孰鸡蛋，并一观火车站近百年的外貌。

离开火车站三百米左右，我就把汽车停在路边，然后边走边看居銮的市容。

居銮的市容与国内其它城镇大同小异，顺着铁路边的一排古老店铺，多是印度同胞或卖花，或理发等小生意。犹如到了小印度的感觉。

火车站外有一水果小档，卖水果的两位老人家很友善的和我们交谈起来，对我们说了火车站咖啡店自三十年至今的久远历史，并建议我们到南芭山走一趟。

火车站咖啡店果然名不虚传，高朋满座，华巫印三大民族齐聚一堂喝茶聊天。其中一位印度仁兄与孩子在用早餐，见到我们在等位子即招呼我们坐下，聊了几句，印度仁兄就买单离去。

我们叫了不同口味的烤面包，半生孰蛋与咖啡，味道都不错，却并非独有。值得一提的是这里的风土民情，以及在怀旧的火车站环境下喝茶，别有一番风味。

当然也拍摄了一些相片，让它们也为大家说说居銮，火车站与烤面包的故事吧。

I came to Kluang railway station, not to board a train to somewhere faraway, instead it was for its coffee, toast and half boiled eggs.

The Kluang rail coffee had started in 1930s, and with numerous cafes and modern toast houses mushrooming, it is today still attracting customers from all places around the country.

The toast, coffee and half boiled eggs were wonderfully nice and tasty, but they are not really exceptional, I have had toast and coffee elsewhere that taste as wonderful.

However, the nostalgic feel and look of the place, as well as the friendliness of the people here delighted us.

Overall, it was a pleasant trip. I also managed to snap some photos for sharing as well.

林明 (Sungai Lembing)

林明，一个离开关丹市大约四十公里的清幽小镇，莫名的挑起心灵深处的一种渴望，被繁华城市长久淹没的心重新泛起了丝丝涟漪，一股少有的冲动在潜意志里暗中拉着驿动的心在此留下来。

在本地，民风淳朴的小镇虽然不少，像林明那般有个性的却不多。一入林明村口，映入眼帘的是清洁的道路，与两排亲切的邻里木屋区。前端不远处，一棵巨大的庄严古树似乎在向我们慈祥的招手，树身宽度惊人，树纹尽显岁月的苍凉，巨树后排列着好多棵树龄较浅的大树，一起默默的守护着林明镇的居民与游客。

简陋但亲却的店屋后有一座巴刹，巴刹的另一边有一间饭店，饭店外观平凡朴实，食物却非常好味。饭店边是间买些糖果的简约古老小店，和店里老婆婆买了些糖果给孩子们，勾起了童年时在旧居附近小店子买糖子的情景。店旁是通往林明山的上山路。

从小镇到我们住的林明乡村度假屋，经过残旧的木桥，和好几段只容一辆汽车驶过的小路，一座华人义山，和一些民居。度假屋简单而井井有条，古色古香与乡村的气息让我们丝毫不感疲惫。度假屋外有简单的烧烤设备，但在镇里不容易买到烧烤的食料。于是晚餐买了两公斤的林明烧肉，两包面包，和一些啤酒，没料到竟然如此美味，这里的烧肉堪称一绝，连不爱吃肉的女儿也吃的津津有味。

小镇的末端，是已经遗弃的锡矿入口与博物馆。在辉煌时期，这里的地下锡矿列世界最长与最深之一，矿工超过一千人。博物馆陈列着许多图片，锡矿所用的工具，和各种不同品质的矿物质。镇内唯一的添油站也是最简约的那种。。。

林明闻名的还有山上的云海与日出和神奇的彩虹瀑布，吸引了国内许多摄影发烧友的到访。因为小孩与老人家同行，因此放弃了登山的机会。

亲爱的林明，别忧伤，纵使不能天长地久，不久的将来，我们会再回来见见你的容颜。。。。

We went to Sungai Lembing early this month and I discovered that this is indeed a quiet and serene small town. The atmosphere of the town somehow attracted my attention as soon as we drove into the town. The row of majestic trees at the middle of the main road, the old shop houses on the left and right, and a few probably newly built chinese clan’s association buildings blended so naturally to form a scene that gave me a very special and comfortable feeling.

Throughout our stay there, we stroll through most parts of the town, astonished by the old but clean and tidy surroundings. The food here are much better compared to what we had in Kuantan. The most famous and eye opening was the roasted pork that was roasted the traditional way in a thick concrete compartment. I have to admit that the roasted pork here is so far the most delicious that I have ever eaten. Other famous food includes Tauhu noddle. Another thing worth mentioning was the kuih and coffee sold in an old, basic coffee shop are very tasty as well.

I was busy taking photographs of the majectic looking trees, the river, the hanging bridge, the street scenery, the old antiques in the Tin Mine Muzium, the abandoned tin mine tunnel, and this was even a good place for macro photography (lots of insects and antique furnitures around with rich details).

What I missed was the chance to climb up to the mountain for the famous sunrise and the rainbow waterfall scenes because of small kids and elderly who went along with us. I will come back here again in the future for these.

龟咯 (Kukup)

龟咯是柔佛州西南方的一个小渔村，属于苯珍县内，面向马六甲海峡。除了捕鱼为生，这里的居民也靠旅游业过活。

渔村里的水上人家，许多都把屋子改造成度假村，供游客休闲过夜。通常每一间度假屋里都有卡拉OK，视频音响，麻将，扑克牌等让游客尽情玩乐。

除了吃海鲜，游客也可坐船参观这里的奎笼(Kelong)，或等涨潮时垂钓，也可到处逛逛拍照留念。

驾车来的朋友，也别忘了到苯珍吃吃原汁原味的闻名兴兴云吞面。。。

云顶高原

还记得大约五年前左右到云顶高原一游，当时正值公共假期，高原上到处人山人海，不仅车辆挤得水泄不通，连人潮也拥挤得恐怖。带着当时四岁左右的女儿，为了让女儿能在高原上的游乐场尽情的玩乐，挤在恐怖人潮中度过惊心动魄的两天。自从那次经历以后，我们都异口同声说不再在公共假期踏足云顶。

五年后，重游云顶高原，这次学乖了，星期日启程星期二离开的三天两夜云顶之行不再有众人蜂拥而上（吃，玩也一样）的情景。一班人马浩浩荡荡，却顺顺利利，轻轻松松的度过三天写意的假期。

原来与世无争的感觉是那么轻松的。。。。。

麻坡一日游

上周末无所事事，就同家人到麻坡一日游。

麻坡，也叫香妃城，是个古色古香的市镇。麻坡的风水似乎特别好，除了有好吃的小食，还有许多闻名遐迩的事物，如屡获世界冠军的关圣宫舞狮团，民间盛传非常灵异的善财爷庙，‘麻坡的华语’创作人黄明志等等。

每次去麻坡，我们必先经过巴冬 (Parit Jawa)。巴冬是个小渔村，这里的鱼虾异常新鲜，所以在这里吃海鲜非常过瘾。阿三鱼煮法虽然非常简单，但鱼肉甜美，阿三汤也不温不火，阿三的酸味与辣椒味配合得天衣无缝，吃得人人食指大动，教人欲罢不能。除了阿三鱼，当然也有其他佳肴如蒸鱼，蚝煎，麻坡乌达，各式烧鱼等。通常在巴冬也会顺道买一些新鲜鱼虾回去，可以吃上几个星期。
