(The Shade)

Instead of the organic fruits and vegetables, I continued to be attracted to shoot other subjects such as the pot plants (in previous post) and the big tree in this post.

This tree, at the end of one of the small roads, provided the much-needed shade for the elderly and the younger kids who are tired after walking in the spacious organic farm park.

The 10mm ultra-wide angle really is a fun angle for shooting the tree. I was actually standing just below the tree yet almost the whole tree could be captured with the wooden house (used for growing mushroom) and the attap-roofed path under it. This would not be possible with my 50mm lens that I also brought along with me on that day.

Another view inside the organic farm park.

(Cute Pot Plants)

I visited an organic farm park in Kluang recently. Instead of the vegetables and dragon fruits that the farm is famous for, I was attracted by the cute pots of plant that really cheer up my mood for that day.

To shoot these little plants, the 50mm lens is an ideal lens for sharp subjects and blurry background (or foreground) with the shallow depth of field that it is capable of.

Besides the green and refreshing feel of the little plants, some creative touch of the pots maker really adds to the interestingness of the pot plants.

2 (Three Cuties 2)

Not too long ago when I visited my elder brother in my hometown, I found three cuties living in his garden and I managed to capture the images of them.

Recently when I loitered around in the playground opposite my house, to my surprise I found another three cuties equally if not more sexy and beautiful than the ones in my brother’s garden.

I chatted with the first cutie and found that she has a beautiful name called Lesser Grass Blue. She was extremely friendly to me and allowed me to spend time taking her gorgeous look as she danced around in the playground.

The second cutie had a much meaner look and wore a dress with tiger strips on her slim body. I did not chat much with her but still managed to capture a few images of her cool but graceful movement around the wild flowers.

The third cutie had small and nice figure, look quiet but her movement was very swift. Her tanned and shiny complexion, together with her sweet smile were so charming that it made me stuck there, not feeling like going away. Finally I found an opportunity to shoot a portrait of her for my album/collection.

(Dawn Photography)

Not so long ago, we had a family trip to Resort World Sentosa. I managed to experiment on some photography from the Sentosa Boardwalk in the dawn hours before my family members even got up of bed.

The first two photos were shot before 7am,whereas the last two images were captured after 7am. The easily noticeable difference is the color of the sea and sky that turns from grayish to bluish.

Due to the limited brightness, I used a tripod with lowest ISO, small aperture to obtain long exposure, creating the water surface that looks silky and smooth as compared with shots taken with normal exposure.

The process of learning never ends and this is one of the most interesting things in life.....

(Ultra-wide Lens)

The fun of playing with a DSLR camera is the wide choices of lenses available for different effects and results.

After playing with the macro lens for sometime, where close-up details of photogenic bugs and flowers not usually noticeable with our naked eyes could be presented for our viewing pleasure, coupled with the nicely blurred background achieved with wide aperture setting and the short focal length, an ultra-wide angle lens provides a totally opposite and fresh perspective with its all clear and wide view of the scene in front of the photographer.

I love macro photography where I can spend the whole morning in my neighborhood garden capturing subjects ranging from bugs, plants, to dews and corroded nails etc., but a new ultra-wide angle lens makes me yearning to go out to places where I can capture landscape shots with a much wider angle of view. I guess I will end up travelling to more places with this lens.

I wish to share a few recent photographs taken with my Canon EF-S 10-22mm lens. The first two are the blue hour shots taken at Danga Bay, Johor Bahru, while the last two are the golden hour shots taken at a public park near my residence.

(DSLR Lenses)

Ever since I bought my first DSLR camera, in less than two years, I have added four lenses so far. I think one of the main advantages of DSLR camera is its ability to use different types of lenses for different photographic needs.

Canon EF 100mm f.2.8L macro lens is my favorite for macro photography, but is equally wonderful for portrait.

Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II standard lens is a lightweight and cheap lens but yield superb image quality. I like to use it for portrait and still object photography.

Canon EF-S 10-22mm F/3.5-4.5 ultra-wide lens is a crazy lens for landscape as well as to produce images with exaggerated perspective. Everything looks longer and wider with this lens.

Sigma 18-250mm lens has a generous zoom range of 13.8 times. This is a good general purpose walk-around lens.

As long as I can afford, I wish to add a super-telephoto lens in the future.

(One-Day Life)

Life is a miracle, yet it is so ordinary and fragile.

Life is just like a set of bolt and nut. The lifespan of a pair of bolt and may be a few weeks, a few months or a few years depending on the environment. Likewise, our life expectancy may be seventy, eighty or ninety years depending on our lifestyle and other factors.

I read an article a few days ago, in the article the writer suggests that we should live each day as though we only have a days’ life. Hence every day we should spend some time acquiring new knowledge, spend some time contributing to the society and also set aside some time for things that we love to do.

This concept of living our life seems to make sense, let’s share it with our friends…

Life's Sayings

In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life, it goes on. (Robert Frost)

We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give. (Winston Churchill)
